The main objective of this practice, promoted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, is to create a safe public space for dialogue between people with opposing political views in a context marked by intense polarization, especially since the pandemic. Inspired by the German model “My Country Talks”, the initiative fosters one-on-one meetings between individuals with differing opinions, with the aim of reducing tensions and promoting mutual understanding.

Using digital tools such as maps, data visualizations, and simulations, the organization simplifies access to complex public information and promotes deliberative processes such as deliberative polling and civic imagination.

The primary aim of CIVIS is to facilitate citizen participation in legislative processes through accessible public consultations. This digital platform enables people across India to share their opinions on draft laws in plain, understandable language, using channels such as WhatsApp, IVR, and social media.
