Participatory Budgeting in Schools
The main goal of this practice, led by the organization Open and presented by Alexandra Ilijin, is to promote student, teacher, and family participation in school decision-making through participatory budgeting tailored to educational environments. The methodology is based on design thinking, with iterative cycles including deliberation, creative expression, and collaborative decision-making.
WeVis: We Visualize Data for Democracy
This practice, led by WeVis, aims to empower Thai citizens to participate in political life through the use of open data, civic technology, and creative storytelling. Using digital tools such as maps, data visualizations, and simulations, the organization simplifies access to complex public information and promotes deliberative processes such as deliberative polling and civic imagination.
Sowing The Seed of Deliberation
The initiative combines deliberative methodologies with accessible technology, amplified through media partnerships, to build metaconsensus—understood as possible agreements between people who think differently, without requiring unanimity
Debate model of civic education
The civic debate model promoted by the Croatian Debate Society (CDS) is a national-level initiative that responds to the lack of youth awareness regarding active citizenship, political agency, and democratic culture. Through a network of debate clubs, the practice aims to empower young people to express their ideas, argue with reasoning, think critically, and actively engage in public life.
