#METACONSENSUS / #DELIBERATIVETECHNOLOGY
DEMDIS emerged as a response to a deeply polarized context, where misinformation and distrust in institutions have fragmented public discourse. In this environment, the practice seeks to restore the value of citizen dialogue by creating carefully curated digital spaces where individuals with divergent views can listen to one another without fear or hostility.
The initiative combines deliberative methodologies with accessible technology, amplified through media partnerships, to build metaconsensus—understood as possible agreements between people who think differently, without requiring unanimity.
These thematic forums are hosted on a custom-built digital platform and supported by preparatory materials that frame the discussion, along with clear participation rules. Through this environment, citizens not only debate but also transform their perception of conflict, generating collective knowledge. Each forum becomes a public communication event: it is convened, moderated, analyzed, and then published through media partners to return a richer, more empathetic and shared narrative to society.
- Promoting depolarization through structured digital deliberative forums aimed at generating consensus.
- Designing a modular, accessible digital platform.
- Engaging media as strategic allies for outreach, results dissemination, and amplifying the debate.
- Analyzing deliberative data to visualize shifts in civic perspectives
- Using everyday language to foster emotional connection and community-building.
- The implementation of modular forums has helped establish an innovative deliberative ecosystem that combines technology, citizen engagement, and public communication. These forums created safe and structured spaces for diverse voices to meet, enabling the transformation of opinions and the construction of partial consensus on sensitive topics. DEMDIS’s key innovation lies in its integration of deliberation, data analysis, and media strategy to strengthen democracy through citizen conversation.
