ARTvocacy Movement

#LEGISLATIVETHEATRE

A Legislative Theater process that brings together the artistic and creative knowledge of young people from marginalized communities in the Kosove State of Lagos. It is a process that seeks to decentralize technical language and promote diverse dialogue scenarios between members of the City Council, young people, and social organizations. In the implementations carried out in 2025, they successfully prioritized the low youth employability rate as a central problem and generated a document of joint proposals and solutions to be sent to the president of the Council, aiming to articulate initiatives among entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and other stakeholders.

The main goal of ARTvocacy Movement in Nigeria is to integrate creative arts as a tool for expression, social change, and youth engagement in politics—seeking to address corruption and create inclusive spaces that strengthen democracy. The objective of the process is to generate concrete public policy proposals that enable young people to participate in political processes without relying on political patrons or inherited partisan affiliations.

At its core, the initiative addresses barriers to youth participation by facilitating dialogue with community leaders and politicians and by building dynamic civic deliberation platforms.
